- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆After frequenting this establishment for the last 20 years and having thoroughly good food and service, Im sorry to have to report that on our last visit the place has gone down hill! The waitresses did as best a job as possible, but the food was not up to the expected standard and the meals, all 9 arrived at completely different times, one of us having finished our meal before another had even received theirs! The manager was extremely amiable and Im sure once they get their act together again, well enjoy going back for a nice meal! The Queen’s Head dates back to 1685 and was originally a blacksmiths. The pub still retains many of its original features from 100 years ago and keeps a strong connection to horses. In fact wild horses and ponies roam freely near the inn even today.
